According to a survey by the American Red Cross 80% of Americans report that they can swim. However, only 56% can perform all of the following functions required to potentially save your own life:
- Step or jump into the water over your head
- Return to the surface and float or tread water for one minute
- Turn around in a full circle and find an exit
- Swim 25 yards to the exit and actually exit the water
- If in a pool, you must be able to exit without using the ladder.
Swim lessons are proven to reduce the risk of drowning, but still only 2% of adults surveyed had plans to take swim lessons. Furthermore, out of the parents surveyed only 1 in 5 children were planned to be enrolled in swim lessons.
While obviously we would love for you to sign up for swim lessons with us, we want to help connect your family with swim lessons that meet your time and financial constraints.
IMPORTANT: Before booking swim lessons with anyone, please remember to always ask the appropriate questions about the instructors, business licensing, and insurance to make sure your child is being cared for appropriately.
